We have been marvelling at how well dressed people are here and we think we discovered the area of the city where they shop. Street after street of small clothing stores with very attractive items. if we had time, we could throw our stuff away and buy some very nice clothes for what appears to be attractive prices!
After a few wrong turns, we finally got to the river.
Just down the street was the bull ring, significantly larger than the one we visited last week. Think of the difference between a high school football field and the Superdome. We were a bit pressed for time so we didn't take the tour.
We walked along the riverfront to the Parque de Maria Luisa, a really nice city park in the area where the 1929 World Exposition was held.
Next to that was The Plaza de Espana, another remnant from that Exposition with a grandiose building featuring some terrific tilework.
Our feature attraction for the day was the Alcazar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built primarily in the 1300's. The site was originally a Muslim kingdom which was conquered and rebuilt for the Christian King. It has been used by Spanish royalty ever since. Lots of photos here to reveal the splendour of the palace. We took a guided tour.
Surrounding the palace were some really nice gardens.
We were approaching 20,000 steps so it was time to look for a relaxing place to sit down and enjoy a wine and beer. We ended up at the square a few steps away from our apartment.
Our supper reservation was the earliest available at 8:30 pm just after opening.
