Marbella Day 10 - After the Rain (well.. almost)

We had some more rain overnight, pretty heavy at times as it woke us up. After being housebound for a good part of yesterday we figured it was time for a walk so we elected to walk the promenade / boardwalk / pathway along the beach from here (Puerto Banus) to Marbella. It is about 8 km past some pretty nice private villas, hotels and chiringuitos.

The sky still looked a bit threatening but the forecast was for no rain.

We found this fellow doing some really nice sand sculptures.

We got to Marbella at about 1:45 so decided to take advantage of one of the cafes on the promenade to sit and have some lunch of fabulous tapas. Just a great way to spend the afternoon watching the people go by. Well, there were still a few lingering dark clouds and just as we finished our meal, it started to sprinkle rain on us.

There was still lots of blue sky left so we kept dodging the light showers and wandered a few more alleys in the old town that we had missed earlier this week.

The Lonely Planet Guide had mentioned one out of the way local bar/restaurant where the locals eat so we sought it out and stopped for a beverage. Just a family run place with a real unpretentious vibe.

We walked back to the harbour and caught the catamaran back to Puerto Banus.

We got back to the villa in time to retreat to our upper patio to watch the sunset. Some interesting colours and clouds tonight.
